goodness...it has been too long! ive buried myself with work the past 3 months or so designing a huge new collection of earrings, bracelets and necklaces, on top of that there are a few design job running concurrently; interior design, branding design, wedding design etc...and the cherry on top; theres my day job - oh, did i ever mention that im a university lecturer by day? hmm...i dont believe i have! lol
anyhow, i was planning on launching oxolocos new collection on april fools day, and tie in the new website launch with a little tea party at a gallery who has extended me an invitation to showcase sometime towards the end of april or may. buuutttt...i have had tremendous support and queries from so many lovely people, i decided to launch oxolocos new collection of earrings ahead of schedule.
im super excited about this new collection because i have taken on a new direction with my creations. i no longer purchase common fittings and fixtures that a million other jewelry designers use. instead, i now work with independent suppliers from across the globe and purchase vintage pieces that are no longer in production. i also salvage broken vintage jewelry from 1920s to 1980s, rework them and give them a new lease of life. being genuinely vintage and handmade, each piece is worked and reworked with a tremendous sense of awe and wonder about its history, and with a lot of care paying homage to their past, present and its second chance at a journey in the future.
so ladies (and gents) the pieces you purchase, i am proud to say, will well and truly be one-of-a-kind ;)
