not to be confused with pangkor island resort, pangkor laut resort is situated on a small private island just off of pangkor island. flying there is most convenient in my opinion, as you are shuttled straight to the private pier to be then taken by speed boat to the resort.

from the airport you'll be transported in pink local taxis,mind you many of them are beaten up old vans with no air conditioning, but the drivers are all smiles. accompanied by the resort staf, you'll be taken to the pangkor jetty and ferried across to back to the mainland private pier...odd, i know. this is where you check-in for your stay and wait to be taken to the private island. you'll arrive and be greeted at the pangkor laut resort jetty after a short and picturesque 20 minute boat ride. the view which greets you is just heavenly...
the rooms are simple, comfy and is accompanied by an oversized bathroom with a tub on a padestal (almost) and too much wardrobe space...nothing overtly luxurious but the view and the surroundings are priceless.
as usual, my man made friends with the locals ;)
nature walks around the island is a must. and the stunning emerald bay which happens to be the only beach you can swim, in is well worth a 40 minute hike through the jungle for. but of course, you could just take the 4 minute hotel shuttle ;)
leaving was difficult, especially the breathtaking emerald bay...but we'll always have emerald bay and my emerald wedding ring
