i love tassels and fringe! well, maybe not so much on my clothes like the current country western trend, but definitely on my accessories. i have a lot of leftover tassels and fringe from various wedding decor jobs etc that i decided to make something useful out of them. so i thought - why not a table runner! :D
you dont need a great many supplies for this simple diy, just the following:
1. trimmings of your choice
2. base fabric - in my case i'm just upcycling an old curtain
3. sewing maching or you can opt for a needle & matching thread(s)
4. scissors
5. ruler
6. marking pins
measure your desired table runner length & width, add a 2 inch seam allowance and cut...
here's all 8 feet of my runner with the seams hemmed...
next, arrange your tassels & trimmings as you please and pin them in place.

sew them all down using matching colored thread - i kept my bobbin thread in black so that the back of the base is also just as neat as the top...
and that's all there is to it...simple!
i hope you'll give this a go to liven up your next tablescape.
it'll be a fun conversation opener, i'm sure :)
xoxo
