DIY FAUX MARBLE TRAY // OLD BOOK TO TRAY TRANSFORMATION

i never thought that i would one day say i love marble - i suppose i overdosed on marble growing up with marble flooring in the house! but here i am, several decades older and loving the marble trend. i saw a gorgeous marble bath tray on our swiss getaway but didnt buy it as it was way too heavy to cart around. i found a similar one online but i knew i could do one better - i'll diy myself a faux marble tray!

here's what i used:
1. amazing goop glue - you can opt for other industrial strength glue
2. marble contact paper - use other designs for variations :)
3. drawer handles
4. screw driver
5. hard cover book
6. craft knife
7. ruler
8. masking tape
9. glass door knobs - or just anti slip stickers will do
10. gold spray paint

first, i taped my hard cover book shut so it doesnt stand a chance of flapping open, then i wrapped the book as i would a present...

next, i spray painted the silver handles and screws in gold and once they were dry i measured the center of the book height and aligned the handles and attached them accordingly...

finally, all that's left to do is to glue the four glass knobs on the base to increase the height and that's it!

and voila! breakfast in bed kinda mood...i love it, if i may say so myself :D oh, and the cats love it too...

xoxo
